Ambience Butler is a concept we design for product exploration of IoT and AI services.

Ambience Butler is a virtual butler which works through an e-paper information center, a mobile messenger chatbot, and a collection of interactive pods. The e-paper information center displays relevant information such as local weather, notes from the host, etc., with help from pods distributed around the residence which can communicate with guests via light and sound. The pods are also designed to trigger based on time, presence or conversation between the guests and the host. The butler can also offer suggestions via messenger chatbot.

THE APPROACH

Discovering needs from small business–more efficient and adaptivity

To balance the IoT implementation costs and its deliverable benefits, we focused on the short-term space rental services for frequent needs and adaptability, such as guesthouse, AirBnB.

THE DISCOVERY

Inefficient conversation

The host aims for higher productivity on rental management; while the guest expects the hospitality but relax experiences. The guesthouse's guidance is a repetitive task that costs a lot of time but creates fewer values in the conversation between guests and hosts.
